The School of Power Engineering is one of the constituent schools of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. Our school traces its origins back to 1960, when the Department of Electrical Engineering was established within the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the National University of Mongolia with the goal of training highly qualified national professionals for the energy sector.
Over the past 65 years, our school has educated thousands of engineers at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels in various fields of energy engineering. Our graduates have contributed significantly to the development of the country, strengthened the reputation of the school, and continue to play an important role in advancing Mongolia’s energy sector.
At present, our school operates with six departments, more than 110 academic staff members and employees, and seven scientific research and innovation centers.
In addition to educating engineers, technical specialists, and researchers, our faculty actively engages in scientifically grounded research to address pressing challenges in the energy sector, develop advanced technologies, and introduce them into practical application. The school is supported by a highly capable academic community. More than 60 percent of our faculty members hold academic degrees, including three full members of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, three academicians, and six recipients of state awards and honored teacher titles, reflecting the strong intellectual capacity of our school.
In line with the development policies and strategic goals of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the School offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in 14 fields related to energy engineering and Biomedical engineering. In response to rapid advances in science and technology, we continuously update our curricula to meet labor market demands and to train competitive professionals capable of succeeding at the international level.
Through the expansion of domestic and international cooperation and the implementation of international projects and programs, the School has focused in recent years on modernizing its teaching and research equipment in accordance with contemporary standards, while further strengthening its traditional education and research infrastructure.
Our School remains open and committed to working together with all stakeholders in the shared mission of educating skilled and innovative engineers for the energy sector of Mongolia.
