Role of the Academic Council

The Academic Council of the Power Engineering School operates within the policies of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST). It provides strategic direction for the School’s education, research, and innovation activities, reviews their implementation, and submits recommendations and proposals to the University.

General Responsibilities

• Define the long-term and short-term development plans of the School
• Discuss and approve internal regulations and policies applicable to faculty, staff, and students
• Review candidates for the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor at MUST
• Review candidates for the title of Honorary Professor of MUST
• Approve the annual financial budget

Educational Responsibilities

• Provide conclusions and recommendations on all matters related to education
• Oversee academic programs and course curricula
• Monitor and review study plans
• Approve the introduction of new academic programs and the discontinuation of existing ones

Research Responsibilities

• Define the School’s priority research directions
• Oversee contract-based research projects conducted at the School
• Review and monitor textbooks, books, and manuals published by the School
• Discuss and submit proposals regarding the establishment, modification, supervision, or dissolution of research units, including divisions, departments, and professor teams
• Conduct discussions and evaluations of doctoral research work
